ยังมีเด็กอีกหลายคนที่อาจได้ยินความเชื่อผิด ๆ มาจากคนรอบข้างเกี่ยวกับการไปหาหมอฟัน จนอาจรู้สึกไม่มั่นใจและกลัวทุกครั้งที่ต้องไปหาหมอฟันเด็ก วันนี้เรามีหลักการง่าย ๆ ที่คุณพ่อคุณแม่ควรแนะนำเพื่อให้ลูกเตรียมความพร้อมและไม่รู้สึกฝืนใจทุกครั้งที่ต้องไปหาหมอฟัน

วิธีที่ 1 สอนลูกแปรงฟันอย่างถูกวิธี
คุณพ่อคุณแม่หลายคนยังเข้าใจผิดว่าฟันน้ำนมเป็นฟันใช้งานชั่วคราว ไม่จำเป็นต้องดูแลทำความสะอาดอะไรมากก็ได้เพราะเดี๋ยวก็หลุดแล้ว แต่ในความเป็นจริงฟันน้ำนมมีอายุการใช้งานมากถึง 12 ปี หากคุณพ่อคุณแม่ละเลยในการดูแลช่องปากลูก อาจทำให้ฟันน้ำนมของลูกมีโอกาสเสื่อมก่อนวัยง่ายขึ้น ส่งผลให้ฟันแท้ที่จะขึ้นตามมามีปัญหาระยะยาวได้ในอนาคต ทางที่ดีคุณพ่อคุณแม่ควรสอนให้ลูกเข้าใจและตระหนักถึงอันตรายที่เกิดจากการไม่ดูแลฟันน้ำนม เริ่มต้นจากการแปรงฟันที่ถูกต้อง โดยแบ่งเป็น 2 กรณี ได้แก่
1.1 กรณีแปรงให้ลูก
คุณพ่อคุณแม่ควรจัดท่านั่งหรือนอนให้ลูกรู้สึกสบาย โดยที่คุณสามารถอุ้มหรือจับนอนตักสะดวก จากนั้นบีบยาสีฟันเล็กน้อยแล้วแปรงอย่างเบามือ ทั้งนี้ไม่ควรใช้เวลาแปรงนาน เพราะอาจทำให้ลูกรู้สึกอึดอัดเวลาแปรงฟันครั้งต่อไปด้วย
1.2 กรณีสอนให้ลูกแปรงเอง
คุณพ่อคุณแม่ควรยืนข้าง ๆ ลูกเพื่อเตรียมอุปกรณ์สำหรับแปรงฟัน จากนั้นยืนตรงหน้ากระจกพร้อมกับลูกเพื่อดูตัวเองเวลาแปรงฟัน โดยเริ่มจากสอนลูกว่าควรแปรงอย่างไร แปรงฟันซี่ไหนก่อน-หลัง หรืออาจช่วยจับแปรงสีฟันในช่วงแรก เพื่อให้ลูกเข้าใจวิธีแปรงที่ถูกต้องได้รวดเร็วยิ่งขึ้น

บีบยาสีฟันขนาดเท่าเมล็ดข้าวสาร สำหรับเด็กที่มีอายุต่ำกว่า 2 ปี
บีบยาสีฟันขนาดเท่าความกว้างของหน้าแปรง สำหรับเด็กที่มีอายุ 3 ปีขึ้นไป
บีบยาสีฟันขนาดเท่าความยาวของหน้าแปรง สำหรับเด็กที่มีอายุ 6 ปีขึ้นไป
