หลายคนเคยไป หาดคลองม่วง แต่เกือบ 80% ไม่รู้จักที่แห่งนี้ บ้างก็ว่าเป็นอ่าวนาง บ้างก็บอกว่าทับแขกไปโน่น ทั้งที่จริงแล้ว ชื่อทางการก็คือ “หาดคลองม่วง”
หลังจากพักเที่ยง และเสร็จจากการกินข้าวด้วยมือเปิบ ด้านหลังแท๊งค์น้ำขนาดใหญ่ ของโรงเรียน นั่งกินข้าวไป มองดูขี้เป็ดที่เกลื่อนทั่วบริเวณรอบ ๆ แท้งค์น้ำนั่นไป กับเพื่อน ๆ 7-8 คน สมัยนั้น ข้าวแกงจานละบาท ก็พออิ่ม เสร็จแล้วเพื่อนก็มักจะชวนไปเล่นสะบ้า เพื่อชิงเอายางรัดแกง(วงใหญ่)ไปอวดสาว ให้สาวถักเป็นเชือกไว้กระโดดเล่น
การเล่นสะบ้า จำเป็นต้องมีลูกสะบ้าและ ลูกหวาด(ลูกสวาด) เดิมที่ลูกสะบ้า เราจะหาเอาตามชายหาด แต่เพื่อน ๆ แถวเกาะกวางมักจะได้ลูกสวยและใหญ่กว่า ผมพยายามเดินหาแถวหน้าหาดคลองม่วง เป็นเดือน ๆ ก็ไม่เคยได้เลย เพราะแถวหาดไม่มีต้นสะบ้า มีแต่ต้นสวาด ที่ตอนเที่ยง ๆ มักจะชอบมุดรั้วโรงเรียน แอบไปเก็บลูกหวาดนี้มาเล่นอยู่บ่อย ๆ หนามตำมือจนนับครั้งไม่ได้ แต่ก็ยังสนุกกับการเก็บอยู่บ่อย ๆ ช่วงกลางวัน
วันไหนฝนตก บรรยากาศทะเลริมหาด จะสงบมาก เสียงคลื่นกระทบฝั่งซ่า ๆ ฟังดูราวกับมนต์ขลังที่บ่อยครั้ง ก็แอบหลับใต้ต้นหูกวางใหญ่ กระทั่งวิชาพละ ที่ครูมักจะให้เด็ก ๆ ออกมาทำกิจกรรมที่ชายหาด ก่อปราสาท ก่อทราย หรือวิ่งเล่นไล่จับ ตามแต่ครูจะบงการ แต่นั่นเมื่อหลักหลายสิบปีก่อน
ปัจจุบัน หาดคลองม่วง นั้น อาจเดินเล่นได้ แต่ก็ไม่ดีกว่าเดิม ต้นสวาด ต้นพลับพลึงทะเล ต้นผักบุงทะเล หายไปเกือบหมดแล้ว ความขาวของพื้นทรายก็น้อยกว่า เมื่อก่อนทรายจะเยอะเกือบถึงผิวถนน สโลปลงไปในทะเล ปัจจุบันรู้สึกมันน้อยลง ขนาดแถวอ่าวเสี้ยว มีการกั้นผนัง บางแห่งของหาดคลองม่วง มีการวางหินกั้นคลื่นกัดเซาะ แต่ก็ช่วยให้ธรรมชาติมันเอาคืนกลับไปไม่ได้
หาดคลองม่วงในปัจจุบัน
ถือเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยว ที่ทุกปี จะเป็นสถานที่จัดงานคอนเสิร์ต NAGA FEST ในแต่ละปี โดยการท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศไทย (ททท.) ร่วมกับจังหวัดกระบี่ องค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดกระบี่ อุทยานแห่งชาติหาดนพรัตน์ธารา-หมู่เกาะพีพี และองค์การบริหารส่วนตำบลหนองทะเล กำหนดให้มีงาน เทศกาลดนตรีที่ยิ่งใหญ่ประจำปี ณ หาดคลองม่วง

นับแต่นั้นหาดคลองม่วงก็ได้ชื่อว่าเป็น ลานคอนเสิร์ต แต่ก็นั่นแหละ ไม่ได้ทำให้ผู้คนจดจำมากไปกว่าหาดมีชื่ออื่น ๆ หากใครอยากรู้ว่าหาดคลองม่วงมีดีอย่างไร เท่าที่นึกออกก็จะเป็นประมาณว่า

ลานวิ่งออกกำลังกายเช้า ๆ
ลานจอดเรือหางยาว และเรือประมงอยู่ไกล ๆ และแพหมึกเมื่อครั้งอดีต
ทางผ่านไปอ่าวเสี้ยว และแหลมหางนาค ที่น้อยคนจะรู้จัก
หาดที่ทอดตัวยาวอยู่ระหว่างกลางของ อ่าวเสี้ยว และเกาะกวาง
คลองม่วงจริง ๆ คือแม่น้ำที่ปลายสาย ไม่ได้ไหลลงที่หาดนี้ แต่ไหลลงปากอ่าวทึงที่อยู่พ้นแหลมหางนาคไป
